the life and times

Hello everyone! My name is Alida Rose, and I can honestly say that I'm so excited to be posting my very first blog.

Well first off, I’m from Long Island, New York, but am originally from Brooklyn, which I consider to be my true hometown.
I am currently a freshman at MMC, and in the spring graduated from an all-girls high school.
I haven’t chosen a major yet (I haven’t narrowed down my options!), but I’m thrilled to experiment and try different kinds of classes.

I have many, many interests, or what I like to call “obsessions.”
I’m very  passionate about the arts. I’ve been a dancer my entire life, and just graduated from the Joffrey Ballet School in New York.

Aside from dance, I also adore: theater, English, photography/photo-journalism, and since being at Marymount I’m starting to really like Costume Design.

Of course I also have some other really embarrassing “likes”: pickles, Paul Frank, Johnny Depp, books, museums, English accents, Meryl Streep, tutus… the list can legitimately go on foreverrr.

I’ve only been living in the city for about 2 months, and it’s been pure awesomeness so far. There’s just so much to do, and so much to see that it’s frightening, but in a good way.

Broadway on Broadway Times Square Event, it was awesome!

I’ve already invested my college funds into seeing Next to Normal, American Idiot with Billie Joe, and have been inside the Good Morning America studios.

This is a dream come true for me, and I’m just so excited to take full advantage of New York City!

I look forward to talking more about my experience as a college student at MMC and just growing up in the greatest city in the world!

Tata for now,

Alida Rose
